Justin Stirling Memorial Ride - Sunday July 16, 2006

Please join us for a memorial bike ride to honor our friend and teammate Justin Stirling who passed away on May 27.

Justin was only 35 years old.  He was born in South Africa, but moved to England when he was six and then moved to Atlanta in 1994.  Justin was known for his quick English wit and passion for riding, especially on group rides.  He embodied the principles of L5Flyers by always greeting others with a smile and encouraging words.

Most of all Justin took pride in encouraging new riders and was always willing to lend a helping hand.  Justin was an active member of the cycling community, and his presence will be missed.

This ride is an opportunity for us to celebrate his life doing something he loved to do.

We will be distributing "JDS" memorial pink frame stickers at the begining of the ride (clean your bike!).

When: July 16, 2006 @ 9am

Where: Outback Bikes, Little 5 Points

Route: The Wednesday night L5 loop.  23 miles.

We will be riding our Wednesday night route at an easy pace (no one will be dropped). Justin regularly rode this route, and even painted the arrows at the turns on the road. So come out and ride this route and use this time to remember Justin.

Donations can be made to the Livestrong, Lance Armstrong Foundation, Phone: 512-236-8820. www.livestrong.org.

Also Justin's friends and his wife Mary Helen have graciously invited everyone to breakfast at the Bass Lofts (across the street from Outback) after the memorial ride.  Please feel free to join us.
